Home Life

Here are a few pictures I snapped at home this past week.

One of the advantages of getting up to feeding the baby is catching the gorgeous sunrises!

William brought me this giant grapefruit. I actually thought it was a melon until I cut it open!

That single grapefruit made me a liter of juice!

Battling Malaria

Our clinic recently participated in a campaign aimed at helping to battle malaria.  Malaria is transmitted through mosquito bites.  One of the best ways to prevent it is by sleeping under a treated net at night (when the mosquitoes are most active).  We were able to distribute free nets to everyone in our community.  Here are a few snaps from the day.

32

This weekend was my thirty-second birthday.  William and I invited some friends to join us at one of our favorite day-trip, getaways for lunch.  We met up at the Kerio View where we enjoyed a nice BBQ lunch and spent time just visiting and taking in the incredible view.

I think this year my birthday meant a little more to me.  Having baby Ryan sure changes life!  He has got to be the best present I've ever received.  At the time of his birth I had some complications which provided a sharp reminder of my mortality.  So I think this birthday was just a little more sentimental than usual.  I feel blessed to be here and that God has granted me the privilege of raising little Ryan.  Here are some pictures from our day.

Most of our group. A few had already left at this point.

The views are incredible!

New Arrival

I've been absent from this blog for quite some time.  In the coming weeks I'll try to get some updates on news about the clinic and ministry.  But for now let me dish out my excuse for lack of posting.  I'm a new mommy!  My sweet little boy was born on September 5th.

I realize that not everyone wants to hear the play-by-play on my child.  So I'm starting a blog just for him.  That way those of you who just want to know about the ministry and general news won't be overwhelmed with baby pictures etc. I'm keeping the new blog private for his privacy.  So if you are interested in following it please send me a message so I can add you to the list.  And hopefully I can get some update posts up here sometime soon!
